Dr Phuong Leung

Dr Phuong Leung is the founder of Individual Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (iCST) Dementia Training and Consultancy. She has a multidisciplinary background in dementia care, including research, training, leadership coaching, and consultancy.

She is a Senior Dementia Research Fellow at University College London (UCL), where she has worked since 2011. She has contributed to major dementia research programmes, including iCST, Promoting Independence in Dementia (PRIDE), Developing an Intervention to Prevent Depressive Symptoms and Promote Well-being in Early-Stage Dementia (IDEA), and the UCL STAY SAFE study.

Dr Leung holds a PhD in Psychiatry from UCL. Her research focuses on cognitive and psychosocial interventions for people living with dementia and their family carers. She also develops and delivers evidence-based training for health and social care professionals and carers.

Prior to her research career, she worked for eleven years in community health and mental health promotion, supporting individuals with complex physical and mental health needs, including cognitive decline. This experience informs her work in dementia training and consultancy.
